Pet Photography – Take Better Pictures Of Your Pets

Photography Post a Comment

Your pet, be it a dog or a cat or another, is one of the best subjects for your camera. Children are the first most rewarding subjects for a photographer, but animals come next. Taking good or even outstanding pet pictures is not very difficult. You can also use techniques to better your chances of getting the perfect results. To make this job simpler and easier, use ordinary cameras with adjustable shutter and stop speeds, and the same basic techniques you usually use. Your pet’s cute face and expressions will make your shot a photo, and not just a snapshot, so be sure to do it in full detail. To fill your frame nicely, move closer to its face. This shouldn’t be a problem if you have a larger pet. Even if you use a fixed focus camera, which allows you to work on the moments, you will still have to get close to four feet. Your fixed focus camera manual should give you the closest point where you could focus the subject on the lens.

On the other hand, for smaller pets, you will need to add a close-up lens. If you plan on shooting indoors, you should consider what type of lighting to use. Red eye could be eliminated easily by putting the flash to the side, if you use it. When the flash is reflected back to the camera lens by the subject’s eye, this can cause flash. The detail on the background can be removed by using a telephoto lens. In addition, this will let you take a large image while having some distance from the subject.

Some More Tips

Know that most animals act like people. It is urgent that you be aware of this character in animals, so you can shoot a good photo. Animals, like children, are extremely difficult to pose. The only thing you can do is wait until the animal assumes the pose you want and then make your move. Your camera has to be ready, because your pet won’t stay in that pose for too long. There are three things you need to accomplish this: a plan, ingenuity, and patience. It’s always good to have a friend help out as well. Ask this person to use toys, rattles, or anything just to get the pet’s attention while you shoot. When the animals wander or stray away from the set, your helper will take care of them for you. The release cable has to be longer if you are shooting alone. Should you need to chase your pet back to the set, or simply get its attention, you can easily take the shot. If you use a prop or a toy, you can keep the pet inside the shooting area.

You need to be cautious about the selection of a pet photographer. You can have a look over the social networking sites like Facebook as most of the photographer uses it to promote their work and get more customers. There are many ways to make sure you get the photographer you deserve. If you are in need of a reliable pet photographer, see if I will fit the bill!
